Saiyaara movie review
Director: Mohit Suri
Cast: Ahaan Panday, Aneet Padda
Rating: ★★★.5
Saiyaara isn’t something we’ve never seen. Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara gives us a story we’ve seen before, but with fresh faces and emotional sincerity. The debutants—Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda—hold the film together with their genuine chemistry and heartfelt moments. While the narrative doesn’t stray far from classic romantic formulas, there’s still something oddly comforting about it.
New Faces, Big Hype
To be honest, when I saw all the buzz around Saiyaara, I was confused. A film with two newcomers going housefull in some cities? That’s rare. I walked in without expecting much. But somewhere along the way, I found myself not bored—which is already a win for a film like this.
A Love Story with a Musical Twist: Mohit Suri doesn’t change much here. If you’ve seen Aashiqui 2 or Half Girlfriend, this won’t surprise you. He plays it safe again—two broken people meet, fall in love, and life gets in the way. Even though there’s nothing “new”, the emotion feels honest. Maybe that’s why it connects.
What’s the Story?
Krish (Ahaan Panday) is an angry, frustrated musician trying to get noticed. Vaani (Aneet Padda) is a shy journalist who’s been through heartbreak—she got left on her wedding day. Krish finds her old diary full of lyrics, turns those into songs, and boom—fame. Along the way, love happens. But of course, things go wrong, and they’re pulled apart. Whether they find their way back? You’ll see it coming. But it’s not just the ending—it’s how it’s told. Same-Old Story, But Still Works Yes, it’s familiar. You’ll be reminded of Sanam Teri Kasam, maybe even Ek Villain. But you know what? Familiar isn’t always bad. Some people go to the movies to feel something, not always to be surprised. And this film gives you just enough emotion to stay hooked.
Strong Points
Acting & Music Ahaan surprises. For a debut, he doesn’t overact and looks natural on screen. Aneet brings calm energy, and together, they make it work. The music, though—that’s where the film truly shines. Sad songs, romantic tracks, all of it fits the mood. Classic Mohit Suri stuff.
Conclusion:
Not New, But Not Bad Either If you’re looking for a love story with emotional drama, good music, and actors who give it their best, Saiyaara is worth a shot. Just don’t expect it to be different from what you’ve already seen.
